We’re sorry if the anxiety you’re feeling around money is what brought you here today. But, we’re glad you’re here! We’ve noticed that when individuals don’t have a financial plan, these worries become overwhelming and, rob them of their peace and joy. Please know that we understand the things that keep you up at night. They are real and can sometimes be very scary!
If you’re like most in the “sandwich generation”, your biggest concern is whether you will have enough money in retirement. You might worry about things like, what kind of lifestyle will you’ll be able to lead, and what will you’ll have to give up. You probably want to know how to find the right balance between living life today and preparing well for tomorrow. The feasibility of your own retirement can be a scary thought! If this sounds like you, a well thought out financial plan can be your solution.
Deep down you know you should have a plan like that, but your busy life and your current concerns get in the way! Kids activities, work, and volunteer commitments are just a few of the things that consume your time and keep you from being able to plan for your own future.
In addition to the pace you keep, financial concerns might be robbing you of your peace. How can you make sure the kids get into a great college and how will you pay for that? Will you be able to pay for college and have enough money for retirement? Then there are your aging parents…. You love them, but they just won’t talk about money! We understand that pondering retirement can conjure up a lot of mixed emotions. You’re saying goodbye to a career you enjoyed, but you’re also excited about the possibility of doing more of the other things you love! In addition, if you are like most, you’re worried about money. Will you outlive your savings? Are your investments enough? What about Social Security? What kind of lifestyle will you be able to lead? What will you have to give up? What happens if your spouse passes before you? You just want to know where the money will come from! It’s all so confusing.
Then there’s the aging parent worry. Helping your parents navigate their end of life stuff might have you worrying and wondering if you’re as prepared as you need to be. You may also know people who suffered, because they failed to plan. What do you need to think about and how can you avoid the panic in that scenario? The reality of your own retirement can be scary enough without considering the end of your life, it just adds to the confusion!

Our team of professionals take pride in creating custom solutions that are tailored to your ‘unique’ situation. At the top of our list is dialing into what you want most out of life and addressing the things that concern you. We act as ‘Fiduciaries’, always putting your interests ahead of our own. We all know, if we want different results we must do things differently. Being an ‘independent’ financial advisory firm, we are not boxed in with ‘Cookie Cutter’ solutions, but rather solutions driven by your unique situation.
Acting in the investment advisory role, we can help facilitate some of these changes. Along the way, we will provide progress reports of changes being made. Change is scary for most of us, but fear shouldn’t derail our passion for reaching our destination. Our goal is communicating with the ‘Heart of a Teacher’, and we strive to speak in a language that is easy to understand. An underlying goal is to take some of the financial anxiety off your shoulders, so you can enjoy the things you love most.
The journey never ends and, rest assured, there will be detours and bumps along the way. So, like taking a long trip, we will need to continue to monitor, adapt and, make changes to keep us on course. At a minimum, we plan for a least one meeting a year. This could be more if required. However, we are always available for a phone conversation or face to face meeting.
With the data you’ve provided us, we take our time sorting through your information. Our goal is to really understand where you are today and where you want to go. We want to understand the type of ‘Legacy’ you wish to leave and the mistakes you would rather avoid. This part of the process helps us uncover what may be missing, or what is just right.
This is where the journey begins! Where we get to learn about you, your goals, and the things you lose sleep over. In most cases we’ll provide you with a ‘To Do’ list, and ask for things like tax returns, investment and bank statements, insurance policies, etc.
